The winner of the Online Casino of the Year election is determined by all the people who vote. The public vote contributes 50% to the final result. The other 50% is determined by the expert jury that includes people from the industry. The organizers of this election have no influence on the outcome of the election.

2) Among all the people who vote, we will raffle off some great prizes. This is how we encourage voting. We will contact the winners via email.

3) When we organize another edition next year, we will send a single e-mail to all the people who voted, asking them to vote again. In addition, we like to inform all the people who voted about the results of the election.

We would like to verify all votes and therefore ask you to enter an email address. The use of services that offer you a short-term inbox is not allowed in this regard. With the use of such services, you can easily vote more than once. And that is exactly what we don’t want. We block the well-known domains used for this purpose.

The results of the 2023 Online Casino of the Year election will be announced on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. The trophies will be awarded that afternoon during a festive ceremony in Amsterdam.

All online casinos licensed by the Gaming Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) are automatically nominated for the Online Casino of the Year election. For the various categories, all relevant online casinos are nominated. On Kansspelautoriteit.nl you will find an overview of all legal online casinos in the Netherlands.

Only legal online casinos licensed by the Gaming Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) are nominated for the Online Casino of the Year election. Therefore, if your favorite online casino does not have such a license, you will not find it among the nominees. We always recommend gambling only at legal online casinos.

Since many companies do business with each other in this world, it is not easy to find jurors without any ties in the industry, who are still very knowledgeable. By having multiple jurors, we try to level out the effect of any bias. Moreover, jurors do not pass on only one preference per category, but a list of four online casinos with varying distribution of points. But above all, we have asked jurors to look at the categories objectively and ignore any personal or business interests when casting their votes. The nominees are displayed randomly. The order of the nominees is different each time both on the homepage and in the different categories when you are voting. This way we try to avoid nudging visitors in a certain direction.

A red cross behind a vote, on the Vote integrity check-page, means that a vote has been changed by the organization or the voter during the agreement. A red cross does not necessarily mean something bad, as it is also a way to filter rogue voices.

When a vote fails the integrity check, this vote no longer counts for the election.

During the development of this website, an error was made in the synchronization between the Dutch version and the English version of the voting module. As a result, people who voted within the English version did not always see the correct nominees during the first two days of voting. In total, this went wrong with 21 votes. This synchronization error has now been resolved, and the system is now working properly. To preserve the integrity of the election, votes that did not show the correct nominees have been voided by the system. The people who cast these votes are invited to cast their votes again.

The voices affected by this error and therefore currently showing a red cross are the voices with the numbers: 146, 143, 142, 129, 110, 107, 84, 82, 50, 38, 35, 34, 31, 18, 13, 6, 3, 2

During the start of the election, an external plugin caused a bug, as a result of which votes made were not considered valid by the duplicate check. This happened to a limited number of votes that had already been verified directly by the voters by email. To allow these votes to be counted, the votes in the Excel are marked as Overwritten and these votes simply count towards the result.
